Officials put safety far behind feasibility

It is remarkable how issues of feasibility always seem to come into play when the lives of underrepresented students are at stake. Why is it not feasible for students to receive funding for programming that benefit the entire university system?

Why is it not feasible for an independent office to be established to address the needs of students of color when none currently exist and no person is adequately addressing those needs?

It seems that feasibility at Penn State is more a matter of convenience and personal opinion than one of responsibility to the student population.

Vicky Triponey and Terrell Jones have made it clear that it is entirely feasible for students to threaten the lives of their peers, dress as clansmen in blackface and intimidate members of underrepresented groups comfortably.

While I am not surprised by the lack of response from administration I am saddened by their continued disregard for the safety of students who are consistently targets of hate at University Park.

Triponey and Jones give the impression that it is not feasible to counter hate crimes at Penn State, nor is it feasible to protect students who do. So what are your tuition dollars paying them for?
