University officials said yesterday that many of the demands issued Friday by Black Caucus members are either not feasible, already exist, or would have to apply to all student groups.

Despite the snowstorm, Penn State President Graham Spanier will meet with the House Appropriations Committee today at 10 a.m. His appearance before the Senate Appropriations Committee, originally scheduled for 2:45 p.m., has been postponed.

In the Big Ten Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships, it is as simple as this: show up on game day, or get left in the dust.

"If there's one meet that you don't want to miss, it's Tuesday night [at Rec Hall], no doubt about it," Penn State men's gymnastics coach Randy Jepson said.

This past weekend, the Nittany Lions did not win back-to-back Big Ten indoor track titles, partially because of circumstances beyond their own control. There was an injury to a key point scorer, freshman Gayle Hunter, and disqualifications of both of Penn State's 400-meter runners for lane violations.

When the Penn State Lady Lions beat eventual Big Ten co-champion Michigan State a month-and-a-half ago, it appeared as though having two great players and a cast of thousands might be enough to win a third straight conference title.

Prior to Saturday, he'd done a nice job of tucking away the emotions and shedding as much light as possible on a team that has snagged just one conference win.

For two coaches, the old "We Are ... Penn State" cheers turned into a call of "O-H ... I-O." But that was back in the confines of Penn State.
