Amid cheering, whistling and laughter, Aaron Wright stood in front of a packed house in Schwab Auditorium wearing a crown and holding flowers and a trophy.

Penn State President Graham Spanier addressed the possibility of restructuring the administration as a result of decreasing state appropriations during an open discussion session with Commonwealth Campus representatives Saturday in the HUB-Robeson Center.

SPORTS

Earlier this season, Penn State women's track and field coach Beth Alford-Sullivan commented that it would be nice to have a second Big Ten championship banner to complement the one that had just been raised this season in the Multi-Sport Facility. However, that banner will have to wait until next year to get some company.

Things started out pretty well for Penn State's Jason McDougald on Senior Day.

The Penn State men's swimming and diving team went to the Big Ten championships in Minnesota looking to improve upon its score of nearly 300 points last season. They came back short of that goal, scoring 250 points and finishing eighth in the conference meet.

Put away the toys. Pack up the board games. After completing a thorough drubbing of EIVA opponents New York University and Springfield at Rec Hall this weekend, the child's play is over for the No. 4 Penn State men's volleyball team. The Nittany Lions (14-2, 5-0 EIVA) begin practice today with three elite teams in their sights, and a growing list of fallen squads in their rearview mirror.

On Saturday, people witnessed the opening of what just might be the "Greatest Show on Field Turf" in the No. 17 Penn State women's lacrosse team's game with No. 15 Vanderbilt.

All year, women's gymnastics coach Steve Shephard has talked about the great depth his team has. Never was it more evident than in Saturday night's 193.975-191.475 victory against Ohio State at Rec Hall.

The Penn State baseball team experienced a bit of unwanted déjà vu during its three-game road trip this weekend.

Numbers don't lie, but they can be deceiving.

For the second week in a row the Penn State men's lacrosse team found itself down three goals at halftime.

Penn State clawed, scrapped and did about everything but make a clutch basket to keep its reign over the Big Ten going, but it was Ohio State who left yesterday with both a win and a share of the conference championship.
