Collegian Staff Writer

The State College Police Department is investigating an alleged rape that occurred sometime between midnight Saturday and 8 a.m. yesterday.

State College Police Sgt. Chris Fishel said the victim, a Penn State student, reported the incident at about 8:25 a.m. yesterday.

The victim told police she attended an off-campus party Saturday on the 100 block of Keller Street, where she was sexually assaulted during the night.

The victim did not know her attacker, Fishel said.

Fishel said State College Police have obtained a description of the attacker from the victim.

Police would only release that the suspect is a white male.

Currently, State College Police do not have any suspects but are conducting interviews and investigating the incident.

More interviews need to be conducted before police can follow up on any leads, Fishel said.

Fishel also said there was no information available about whether or not drugs were involved in the incident or if the woman sustained any physical injury.

The woman received medical treatment at Mount Nittany Medical Center, Fishel said.

Fishel said the department could not release any additional information at this time.
