NEWS

Despite a pending lawsuit, Penn State officials are continuing with plans for a law school at University Park by naming two possible locations for the new $60 million Dickinson School of Law.

Experimental traffic devices implemented along Beaver Avenue two years ago will become permanent in May due to an overall decrease in traffic accidents and an increase in pedestrian safety.

The possibility that racial and homophobic remarks were shouted from the windows of two Pollock Halls dorms last week has prompted alarmed reactions from students and residence life.

Mr. Immeasurable to the rescue.

Some student and community leaders believe the United States' proposal to withhold annual dues from the United Nations will not have much of an effect on international relations.

Current plans to construct a Kohl's department store in the Colonnade Shopping Plaza along North Atherton Street were approved Wednesday, with a few exceptions, by Patton Township board members.

Amy Katz is just like most 12-year-old girls -- she plays the trumpet and enjoys soccer.

Help is on the way for incoming freshmen in the College of the Liberal Arts.

Although Black Caucus has yet to officially submit its ideas to improve the racial climate on campus to the administration, officials already say that some of the demands might not be feasible.

Allies held a town hall discussion last night in HUB Heritage Hall so students, faculty, staff and community members could express their opinions of the campus climate.

Patrons of one local bar can now enjoy an atmosphere on Mondays without the smell of smoke lingering in their clothes.

Ian Rosenberger, former Undergraduate Student Government president and current member of the Koror tribe of CBS' Survivor: Palau, spent his first post-graduate year working with dolphins in Florida. That aquatic experience came in handy on last night's episode since he spent a good deal of it underwater.

SPORTS

For the Penn State men's indoor track team, winning a Big Ten championship would accomplish a season-long goal; every meet up to this point has been a way to prepare for this meet.

Full speed ahead.

Editor's note: This is the second in a two-part series previewing the Penn State baseball team.

It's easy to forget how hard it is to raise a champion's banner to the rafters at an athletic institution like Penn State.

It's finally Dunn.

In Super Bowl XXXVII, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers dominated the Oakland Raiders partly because their coach, Jon Gruden, coached the Raiders the year before and was familiar with the Oakland game plan.

Weeks of preparation, team success to this point and all the confidence in the world still might not be enough for the No. 62 Penn State men's tennis team (8-1) this weekend.

This weekend, perhaps the Penn State men's gymnastics team can draw inspiration from -- David Bowie?

After looking like two different teams on Sunday against Yale, the Penn State women's tennis team will try to put together two matches in which they compete solidly in both singles and doubles.

No easy non-conference games here.

Two weekends after dropping two of three games to North Carolina State, the Penn State club baseball team (1-2) will travel to Virginia (4-0) this weekend for a three-game series and another chance to see its players in game situations.

With the Big Ten Championships four weeks away, the Penn State women's gymnastics team gets a chance to gauge where it may be when it counts.

Both PSU fencing teams ranked top 3 in country
Vargas travels to N.Y. for American Cup meet
Lions earn 3 'B' times in Big Ten preliminaries

The first time these two squads played, the Lady Lions needed a win to save their season.

Hollow. Lifeless. Depressing. Moody. Dark. Miserable. Boring.

After mild success as a talk-show host and a somewhat disappointing film career, Chris Rock is back to what he does best: stand-up comedy.

Dogs are supposedly man's best friend, but that adage always rubbed me the wrong way. There are all those schmaltzy flicks about a boy and his scraggly pooch, and how they go fishing and cause a ruckus at the county fairgrounds, but where do we girls fit into that formula? Dogs are woman's best friend, too, so where's our canine-centric coming-of-age tale?

As a retort to the hilarious, yet somewhat self-deprecating He's Just Not That Into You: The No Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys, Ian Kerner brings lonely, love-seeking, single ladies Be Honest -- You're Not That Into Him Either: Raise Your Standards and Reach for the Love You Deserve.

Kings of Leon's second album, Aha Shake Heartbreak, is a confusing blur. It only lasts for 35 minutes, and only about 14 of those minutes are worth keeping. The group's rollicking, aggressive sound only has an impact if the writing is also creative. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

The first thing you notice is the name.

Three musical acts will perform in a free concert to benefit Eco-Action events Kyoto Now! and Earth Day from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Webster's Bookstore Café, 128 S. Allen St.

Allen Street Grill, 100 W. College Ave., will feature Bill Filer and Magic Hat beer (231-4745).
