Gabe Bernstein, who was a senior co-captain on the Penn State men's soccer team this season, was selected in the fourth round of the annual Major Indoor Soccer League College Draft, held yesterday via teleconference
Bernstein was selected 27th overall by the Cleveland Force. He was one of just two Big Ten players selected in the draft. Ohio State midfielder Justin Cook was selected in the third round by the Kansas City Comets.
"It's great for Gabe Bernstein," Penn State head coach Barry Gorman said. "It's a strong indication of his consistent play over four years. It's a just reward for all of the hard work that Gabe has put in."
Bernstein, a four-year letterwinner, suffered through an injury-riddled senior season. He finished with six goals and four assists in 70 career matches.
