Presidents Day must not go uncelebrated

As Presidents Day came and went yesterday without as little as a mention from The Daily Collegian or around campus, I couldn't help but think back to the hoopla that surrounded Martin Luther King Day this year.

Penn State President Graham Spanier faced so much pressure that he was forced to give us the day off next year. While I agree that King was a great man, I would argue that presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Reagan all did more for this country than King did.

I know I may be labeled a racist for even suggesting this, but I find it odd that no one takes a moment to honor what these great men did for this country.

I just hope that it is not because of the color of their skin.
