Three Penn State women's lacrosse players have been named preseason All-American Lacrosse Conference (ALC). Senior goalkeeper Lee Tortorelli, senior attack Kristen Burke and junior midfielder Lori Havrilla were honored prior to the season. In addition, the Nittany Lions were picked by the coaches of the ALC to finish third in the league.
Tortorelli, a preseason Inside Lacrosse All-American and a first team IWLCA All-American from a year ago, enters the 2005 season just eight saves away from breaking the all-time Penn State career saves mark. The 2004 American Lacrosse Conference Goalie of the Year, Tortorelli broke her own record for saves in a season with 219, eclipsing her previous mark of 199 and becoming the only player in Penn State history to record more than 200 saves in a season. Burke, also a preseason Inside Lacrosse All-American, was a second-team All-ALC selection last season after playing all 17 games of the season, recording 29 goals and six assists for 35 points. She recorded a season-high five goals at Ohio State and posted two or more goals on seven different occasions. Havrilla, a preseason Inside Lacrosse All-American and a first team All-ALC honoree last year, started all 17 games of the season and led the team in goals with 36 on 81 shots. She recorded at least one goal in 15 contests of the season and two or more goals on 12 occasions.
