State wastes resources by oversalting roadways

The amount of chemicals placed on the roads last week was absurd. They were literally painted white with salt. How much did it snow? Who knows, because it all blew away before 10 a.m.

Thus the taxpayers take another hit in the wallet. There are two reasons for road salt. One is that it makes the state look better to the average idiot.

The state creates jobs by having people drive around dumping salt everywhere, and it appears they're concerned for our safety. The other reason is that when some idiot who can't drive crashes, they can't sue the state for not trying to clear the snow.

The state doesn't want to run out of chemicals, or somebody will wreck in March and sue them. They ensure this won't happen by using salt as fast as they can and then complaining to the state legislature that they don't have enough. It's a vicious cycle. The result is that our cars and roads get destroyed by salt corrosion. Basically, the state uses your own tax money to destroy your own car. What a deal. The root of the entire problem is people's inability to drive.

The solution is to make crashing a car during bad weather a crime, under penalty of losing your license. That way, all the idiots who can't drive would stay at home and the rest of us could enjoy the weather and save a lot of money.
