[ Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 ] Letter to the Editor
Outcry against letter positive for community
I am writing to express my delight at the response to Chris Kovalchick's letter to the editor from Feb. 17. I was the Director of Allies at Penn State while I was a student. And even though it seems like a short time ago, letters expressing the attitude of Mr. Kovalchick were commonplace; not just on the opinion page of The Daily Collegian, but also in my personal e-mail and snail mail. However, there was never a response from a body of students nearly as diverse as the response I see today, and never such a large body of responses. State College was easily the most homophobic community I personally have ever encountered. But luckily, that seems to be finally changing. Keep up the good work, and remember, there is life after college. Jennifer Dumin
