Lady Lions senior guard Jenny Brenden (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team, as selected by CoSIDA. Brenden is a fifth-year student-athlete on the women's basketball team. She graduated in 20004 with a degree in advertising-public relations, but returned for her fifth year and a second degree in media studies. Brenden is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and is currently carrying a 3.86 GPA.

On the court, Brenden is one of Penn State's best 3-point shooters. Recently inserted into the starting lineup, she has helped the No. 24 Lady Lions stay perfect at home this season while also battling for a third-straight Big Ten championship.

Brenden is averaging 4.5 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game this year, and has knocked down 17 3-pointers on the season.

Last year the Lady Lions' Kelly Mazzante was named the women's basketball Academic All-American of the Year.
