Letter to the Editor
Readers respond to ‘hateful’ letter about Collegian photo

While others may be offended by the "disgusting and pathetic" people who were pictured on The Daily Collegian, I personally am proud of the people involved, and The Daily Collegian for publishing that article.

To all who believe that these people are not real and do not matter, you should take a deeper look into what kind of person you are and whether your actions match up to what you really believe.

The people who I know in the gay and lesbian community, at Penn State and elsewhere, are "good, honest people, who strive to make a positive difference" everyday and not just during Thon week.

They are people who matter and have every right to represent Penn State, not only on the cover of the Collegian, but in every other capacity as well. Apparently the fight for human rights and civil liberties is still one that needs to be fought.
