Computer equipment stolen locally

Several thousand dollars of computer equipment were reported stolen from Austrian Research Centers in North America (ARCiNA), 302 S. Burrowes St., yesterday, State College Police said.

The theft occurred between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The individuals entered through an unlocked window and left through a second floor exit, Sgt. John Gardner said.

Sigrid Koetterl, president of ARCiNA, said the value of the computer equipment and software was about $5,000.

Gardner said ARCINA is still making a list of the stolen items. Police are still investigating the incident and anyone with information is encouraged to call State College Police at (814) 234-7150.
