The walls of the HUB Auditorium remained silent last night, as no student or community member came to the brainstorming session for next year's Distinguished Speakers Series (DSS) that was scheduled at 6 and open to the public.
For some, racism is more than just black and white.
Schools across the country are checking out Penn State's dance moves.
Some Penn State students have their eyes on the skies.
Tara McGuire is controlling what you see. Well, if you live in the dorms, anyway.
Theologian Ravi Zacharias spoke about the dangers of a society without God to a packed audience last night in Eisenhower Auditorium.
"Survivors ready?"
Along with their enthusiasm, comedy, basketball and dance marathon buffs could be bringing some intense traffic when they converge onto campus this evening.

After missing practice on Monday and Tuesday to rest in bed with an illness, Gayle Hunter finally received some good news Tuesday night that made her feel a little bit better. The left leg that held up the not-fully-mended bones lay elevated, encompassed in clear wrapping tape up in the Greenberg Ice Pavilion bleachers. Fifty-three down. Two to go. After losing a long rally, during which Bucknell's Ira Reibeisen had his opponent all over the court, he burst out, "Who is this?!" After falling just short of an NCAA tournament bid last season, the No. 21 Penn State men's lacrosse team is heading into the year full of uncertainty. In a classroom, the typical college student cringes at the thought of physics. The study of matter, energy and the properties that accompany the two just does not provide the level of excitement preferred by most students. However, when physics involves sprinting at full speed, flipping over a bar and free falling onto a fluffy mat, it does not sound boring at all. It seems only fitting on a day when the NHL canceled its season that the No. 1 men's basketball team in the country reminded Penn State coach Ed DeChellis of his first hockey game. In last night's match-up against the University of Illinois Fighting Illini, the roaring cheers and feelings of excitement were obvious in one particular group at the Bryce Jordan Center (BJC). No. 1 Illinois 83, Penn State 63 Wisconsin at No. 24 Penn State, Team Statistics through Feb. 16, 2005 Penn State 7, Bucknell 0 Assembly's seminar proposals helpful, but keep class sizes small My Opinion: Jessica Dellen Letters to the editor
For some musicians, there are only two directions in which their music can go: straight to the top of the charts or straight to the bottom of the bargain bin. Angry at your date (or lack thereof) for Valentine's Day? Channel some of that anger in a healthy way when Virginia Coalition (VACO) returns to Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave. at 9:30 p.m Monday. Folk and acoustic concert series the Acoustic Brew Coffeehouse will bring the eclectic music of married duo Kim & Reggie Harris along with opening act, blues and spiritual performer, Kelly Carmichael this Saturday at the Center for Well Being in Lemont. Pick up that penny on the floor and stop racing fast moving cars! Dancers taking part in the Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon will be hard at work for 48 hours, but that's not to say they won't have fun as well. Against a backdrop of splattered paint, nine singers stand in line singing a cappella, "Walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone," in a momentarily empty Forum Building classroom. At long last, cinema culture is finding a level ground between those who are hearing impaired and those who are not, and it's happening right here in State College. Fashion at the Grammys is usually pretty madcap and self-indulgent, as is the evening itself and its participants. Today's appetizers include fried zucchini from Italy, Peruvian ceviche de pescado and arepa (corn cakes) from Venezuela. The name Tokyo Vertigo might sound random, but that comes as no surprise after talking to the band, a new local favorite made up of five Penn State students. From now until May 15, the Palmer Museum of Art will be showing 75 pieces of James and Barbara Palmer's personal art collection that dates back to the 1970s. It's just about that time in the semester when the thought of escaping State College sounds refreshing. The weather and landscape around here have become bleak and boring. We could all use a little change of scenery now and then, so why not take a weekend excursion to the birthplace of our nation? Are you craving a fried deli sandwich that includes french fries and cole slaw? For every yin there's a yang. For every peak there's a valley. And in Happy Valley, for every vagina, there's a penis. Monologues, that is. Allen Street Grill, 100 W. College Ave., will feature Bill Filer and Magic Hat beer. Specials include $1 Miller Lite drafts and happy hour from 10 p.m. to midnight with half-priced well liquor (231-4745). My Opinion: Dan Schwartzman
