Two Penn State men's soccer players were named to the Soccer America Freshman All-American team on Friday.
The players honored were Richard Costanzo, a midfielder from Jefferson Hills who graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, and Conrad Taylor, a goalkeeper from Colorado Springs, Colo.
Costanzo, last year's Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and Taylor were the only two players from the same team named freshman All-Americans. They were also the only two players from the Big Ten named to the 11-player squad.
Taylor was previously selected as a College Soccer News All-Freshman first-team member, while Costanzo was named to the College Soccer News' second team.
Taylor led the Nittany Lions to a 10-4-8 record, including a 4-1-8 mark in overtime games, this past season. He recorded eight shutouts and had a 1.02 goals against average while playing every minute in net. He was also selected to Top Drawer Soccer's All-Freshman first team and the Big Ten All-Freshman team. Costanzo finished third in scoring for Penn State with four goals and 15 points in 19 games. He also was selected to Top Drawer Soccer's All-Freshman second team.
