Death of Jesus Christ nullifies Old Testament

In response to Dan Kasper's ("Many Bible Chapters Show Scripture Dated," Jan. 28) stating, "We are also supposed to sacrifice a goat or lamb after touching an unclean animal (Leviticus 5:5-10)." We, who are born again believers, are able to look back and see that the blood of bulls and goats only pointed forward to the true and perfect sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When Christ died on the cross for our sins, the covenant that God made with the children of Israel came to an end. Christ's death on the cross answered the sin question.

Through His death and resurrection, we who believe on Him can now approach God (John 14:6).

There is no longer a need to offer up the blood of bulls and goats, "For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins." (Hebrews 10:4). The Lamb of God, Jesus Christ (John 1:29), is the propitiation for our sins.
