Pennsylvania State Police arrested nine people for possession and delivery of drugs Thursday morning, State Police Cpl. John Bravis said.

The suspects were arraigned Thursday by District Justices Allen Sinclair and Daniel Hoffman, depending on their location.

State Trooper Richard Swank of the State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit said police had been investigating the cases for six months to one year. While this was the second drug sweep in two weeks, Swank said the timing was coincidental because the other sweep was conducted solely by the Penn State University Police and Centre County Drug Task Force.

Swank said about 16 total state troopers and officers from Centre County Probation took part in serving the warrants. "There are two [individuals] that have warrants for their arrest and haven't been located yet," Swank said.

Blaine Carver, 25, of Julian, was charged with three counts of delivery of heroin. Anthony Hoban, 44, of Bellefonte, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Troy Zimmerman, 29, of Bellefonte, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Nichole Susko, 20, of Ramey, was charged with two counts of delivery of cocaine and marijuana. Josh Schreffler, 19, of Bellefonte was charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Brian Confer, 22, of Bellefonte, was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Eric Smith, Jr., 25, of State College, was charged with one count of delivery of cocaine. William Owens, 20, of State College, was charged with one count of delivery of marijuana. Scott Blair, 38, of Bellefonte, was charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver.

Carver, Hoban, Zimmerman, Susko, Confer, Owens and Blair have preliminary hearings scheduled today at Centre County Courthouse, Bellefonte.
