I never thought I would write in to the Daily Collegian.
Frankly, I couldn't care less what's going on in the Undergraduate Student Government or what some sophomore sorority member thinks about the war in Iraq.
But, Jen Winberry's article on Eagles fans ("Eagles Fans Win Over Out-of-State Football Orphan, Jan. 25") is completely inane.
I was skeptical at first when she mentioned she came from a city without a football team and was from Baltimore. Baltimore? Really? So at the age of 13 she was too old to take the Ravens in. But my main problem is not with Winberry's football knowledge or affiliation; it is with her statement that Eagles fans are the smartest, and nicest fans around. I have a certain memory of going to Veterans Stadium at the tender age of 9 wearing a Giants jersey to a Cowboys game and getting beer thrown at me by 30-year-old Eagles fans.
Throwing beer at a 9 year old? That sounds smart and accepting.
Did Jen forget about her four "adopted brothers" getting arrested last week in their Eagles attire? It's reasons like this and fans like this that will have me rooting for the Patriots in Jacksonville.
And my 5-year-old sister can spell E-A-G-L-E-S.
