Letter to the Editor
Eagles will take win against veteran Pats

I was reading Matt Johnson's letter ("Eagles Fan May Be Set Up for Big Fall," Jan. 26) about how Eagles fans should be concerned about the Super Bowl match up after his Steelers got totaled by the Patriots, worse than a Mack truck colliding with a Volkswagen Bug. Yes, the Patriots are the defending champs two out of three years but, as Chris Berman says, "That's why they play the game."

The Eagles defense is playing like possessed demons, destroying anything in their way. Jim Johnson's defense throws the arsenal at the opposition. If the Eagles contain Corey Dillon, the Eagles can win. They also possess a secondary with three pro bowlers. So, in there lies the other challenge -- stopping the Brady playoff express, which I think the Eagles can stave off long enough to win.

I am giving the Patriots all the respect but I believe the Eagles can take it to the champs just like the Patriots did to the Rams in 2002. Final score: Eagles 20, Patriots 17. Finally, do not fret Steelers' fans, it just was not your day and Mr. Johnson's wish might come true come Super Bowl Sunday.
