It is important to realize that President Bush is not "ignoring the feelings and opinions of the millions of individuals."
President Bush cannot ignore his, at times, low job approval, nor can he shut out the voice of the protesters and media that do not support his platform.
However, what many need to learn is that just because the president does not immediately change his mind and side with his dissenters does it mean that he does not hear your voice. It only means that he chooses not to take your side.
Much as if you went to argue a grade with a professor and at the end of the discussion the professor turned to you and said, "Your point is valid but I'm not changing your grade."
So too has President Bush's actions simply told you, "Your opinion is valid but I do not wish to side with you."
I highly doubt that John Kerry would have been pressured to side with those in favor of the Iraq War or with those opposed to gay marriage, purely because "their voices needed to be heard."
So don't raise such a fuss when President Bush tells the opposing viewpoint a stern no.
