UNIVERSITY PARK -- Eco-Action, a student environmental organization, has announced it will be hosting a Global Warming Speaker Series on the third Thursday of every month.
The first lecture is at 7 p.m. Thursday in 105 Forum Building. Eric J. Barron, dean of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, will be discussing the role of the United States in climate change, including "how we've contributed to global warming and what we're planning to do about it," Gina Riggio, secretary of Eco-Action, said.
Barron mediated the U.S. National Assessment of Climate Change commissioned by President Bush. "He's coming from the front lines," Riggio said.
