God loves all people but opposes gay life
In response to the gay clergy editorial yesterday, the Collegian opinion is unfounded, misleading, and merely rhetoric with no foundation. Did you do your homework surrounding this issue, or did you all just get together beforehand and decide gay is always good? Why don't you read Leviticus 20:13, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, and Romans 1:26-27, and then rewrite your article with an informed viewpoint regarding Christianity. The foundations of the Christian theology are rooted in following the teachings of Jesus and the Bible. If one does not believe these teachings, then he or she should probably find a new religion -- perhaps the religion of "don't offend me or tell me I'm bad." A Christian minister must be the moral compass of his or her followers and should not hold views that oppose the teachings of the Bible. Beth Stroud goes against the teachings of the Bible just as Jerry Falwell did when he cheated on his wife. God is forgiving and loving, and he commands Christians to love everyone -- including homosexuals. However, he does not command Christians to change their beliefs merely because society is becoming more secular and hedonistic. You shouldn't change the rules, you should change your heart. Just because God condemns homosexuality, he does not condemn the homosexual. All those who believe in Him are offered a place in heaven. However, the clergy should be reserved for those who believe in all the teachings of the Bible, not just the teachings that make them feel comfortable. Robert Zimmerle
