State College Police are investigating an incident early Saturday morning that left one victim without two teeth.
Penn State students Corey Cortese, 20, and Vincent De Palma, 20, reported to police that they were assaulted by a group of five white men and one black man at the intersection of East Beaver Avenue and South Garner Street.
The two victims said the incident began with a verbal argument between the groups, but a physical fight followed. Cortese reported that he was knocked to the ground and kicked repeatedly before being placed in a headlock and rammed into a light pole. As a result, Cortese lost two teeth and De Palma suffered bruises.
One suspect, who allegedly spit at Cortese, was described by police as a white male, 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds.
State College Police are checking the surveillance camera at the intersection of Beaver Avenue and Hiester Street for footage that may help the case.
