Firecracker explodes in gas tank of car

The owner of a Ford Explorer reported to the State College Police Department that someone placed a firecracker in the vehicle's gas tank early Saturday morning on the 200 block of East Nittany Avenue.

The device caused a minor explosion and damage to the vehicle's gas line, police said.

Although the explosion occurred at about 2 a.m., the owner did not report the incident until 2 p.m. Police said they have no suspects at this time, but are still investigating the case.

Wing Zone employees involved in fight

Minor injuries resulted from a scuffle between two employees at Wing Zone, 433 E. Beaver Ave., and two other people at 3 a.m. Saturday.

State College police said the fight may have occurred because derogatory remarks were made to a female.

The altercation occurred outside the establishment, police said.
