Bush speech points contradict his policy

It's unfortunate that George W. Bush's inauguration speech elicited so much applause with so many untruths. Granted it was a good speech, but the rhetoric was nowhere close to matching his actions. The most obvious fallacy was stating that "every man on earth has rights," promising to protect minorities and that public interest lies in the tolerance of others. That's great; too bad one of his platforms is banning gay marriage. And since his religious ideals have invaded domestic policy, he actually means "every man on earth has rights, so long as they are heterosexual Christians." Oddly enough, later in his speech he talked about "oppression, which is always wrong." Another thing that puzzled me was him saying, "America will not impose our own style of government on the unwilling" and that humans shouldn't be bullied.

So I guess invading a country on hollow reasons that will later be admitted as incorrect and setting up a new democratic government in the face of mass insurgency is out of the question this term.

Oh, wait, he did that last term. To think that people were cheering for him while he so blatantly lied boggles my mind. It's obvious that mostly Republican loyalists comprised the crowd because no free-thinking individual would cheer somebody for talking from both sides of their mouth.
