Not questioning war lets Bush lies stand
This is in response to Robert Nelson ("Ongoing war debate does not help troops," Jan. 20). Debate is what America is founded upon. Why must debate ever stop? Why should we ever stop bickering and complaining about this war, as you put it. The point is this, a man lied (or misconstrued the facts) in front of a podium, along with many others in the current administration. Their statements have caused thousands of family members to mourn the lives of their family members. This so-called bickering and complaining comes from unrest and disapproval of millions of Americans. I have been lied to, and I will never forgive the men who put America into this unfavorable worldwide position, creating tensions and outrage that is unnecessary. Let's face it people; killing the enemy, defeating terrorism, and defeating all roots of terrorism will not be met until the last sentence and the last word is listened to, not ignored. Ignorance is what Sept. 11 is blamed for by some Americans. How can we afford to ignore our future as a nation? Mark Zebro
