A $100,000 grant from the federal government will help State Theatre, Inc. raise funds for the renovation and restoration of the site.

A shout-out to Ashlee Simpson, whose recent series of humiliating events -- a slipup on Saturday Night Live that revealed her lip-syncing and the subsequent Orange Bowl crowd of 72,000 loudly booing her "La La" performance -- has cast an unfortunate shadow of doubt on female musicians of all types.
