Penn State student Anthony Pacitti, 24, reported to police that $200 was stolen from his apartment on the 500 block of E. Beaver Ave. at about 7 a.m. yesterday.
Pacitti told police that he had spent the previous night playing card games with friends and awoke yesterday morning to see someone searching the pockets of a pair of his jeans, State College Police Sgt. Mark Argiro said.
The unknown suspect allegedly took Pacitti's wallet and the cash inside it. Pacitti said the person fled the apartment once Pacitti saw him, though Pacitti was not completely awake, Argiro said.
The suspect was described by police as a white, college-aged male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches and was wearing a brown coat, blue jeans and a black knit hat. Though he would not be able to identify the man, Pacitti told police he did not suspect any of his friends of the crime.
Police arrested and arraigned a man on Wednesday in the theft of a Ford Taurus from a State College residence. Thomas Boozer was arraigned on charges of stealing the car from the 200 block of South Burrowes Street between 2 a.m. and noon Jan. 2.
