Partying essential for university experience
In response to Renée Petrina's column ("Not living party lifestyle comes out OK for grad," Dec. 10), I say this. I can respect your right to do whatever you want to do, and not feel the pressure to do something that you didn't want to do in the first place. However, since graduating in May and hitting the "real world," let me tell you that you have plenty of time to drink responsibly and to dance sober out here. What you will never get to do again is the crazy stuff that you have declined in your time at Penn State. College is about more than partying, but as you all will soon find out, not a whole lot more. Four years of our lives are not meant to be spent studying or being responsible all the time. Go out, get drunk and hook up as long as you are responsible enough. And then you can tell your kids all about college, and have some life experiences to back it up. Evan Harris
