The resignation of Ty Willingham as head coach of Notre Dame may be an opportunity for Penn State football.

Willingham is a good coach who values the student in "student athlete," as well as a commitment to winning on the field.

If Penn State were to ever bring in an outsider to continue Coach Joe Paterno's legacy of a -- until recently of course -- winning football program that plays by the rules, Willingham would be the man to do it.
