With winter weather quickly approaching, Penn State and State College Borough officials are preparing for the snowy months ahead.

Lisa Scharf is using the help of a little angel to make someone's season brighter.

Most members of the Penn State University Veteran's Organization (PSUVO) have gone off to war in Iraq.

December madness.

Former Penn State wide receiver Maurice Humphrey will serve nine months in prison after a judge ruled yesterday that he violated the terms of his parole.

For some students who smoke, even the decreasing temperatures and impending snow are not enough for them kick the habit.

SPORTS

Most teams worry about coming out flat after a three-week break from competition.

The Penn State men's basketball team will be in action tonight in the Bryce Jordan Center and fans will have an opportunity to receive free admission to the game in conjunction with the "Toys For Tots" program.

The Penn State athletic program is getting some "Primetime" national exposure this winter thanks to College Sports Television (CSTV).

The Penn State ACHA Div. I Icers may have already beaten St. Clair twice this season -- but that fact isn't putting the team anymore at ease. One month ago, the Icers only managed to record a combined eight more shots than St. Clair and were even outplayed at times.

One week removed from a second place finish at the Mat-Town Classic, the No. 17 Penn State wrestling team will switch gears for Sunday's Nittany Lion Open.

As the No. 17 Penn State women's swimming team headed south to Auburn, Ala., to face the No. 2 Auburn Tigers and a number of other schools, it was not to be a part of a showdown that might occur if Joe Paterno led his team into the same setting.

Two wins to end the season wouldn't be enough to stop the e-mails filled with invective. The harsh phone messages. This much, Jay Paterno knew.

Three minutes into the second half, the Penn State women's basketball team extended its lead to 46-27 off a Jen Harris lay-up, but Tanisha Wright lay on the floor grabbing her leg under the George Mason basket.

It was hard not to look ahead last night at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Winning is contagious.

How big of a U2 fan am I? I was Bono for Halloween. 'Nuff said.

Many stars that made it big in bands and groups are now taking the solo route.

If history is any indication, Alexander the Great was an extremely bold and charismatic figure who fell in love with his own greatness so much so that he didn't know when to stop conquering and just live out a satisfied existence.
