Delay of execution shows faulty justice

I am more than outraged to learn that George Banks will not be executed as scheduled for yesterday. Overtly, that sounds rather barbaric; however, this case illustrates how the American judicial system has become useless. This man killed five of his own children, in addition to eight other people. His justification, "it was for the salvation of the children," is flawed. The fact that he and his lawyers can use the cop-out of "insanity" to clear him of the death penalty is in itself insane. I am shocked that Timothy McVeigh was not slated as "insane" and sentenced to "nine consecutive life terms with potential parole in five years" or something ludicrous. Defense attorneys are the reason that murderers like Banks can be placed in jail and drain tax dollars. The American judicial system is intended to punish the evildoers of this country -- why then are lawyers allowed to deceitfully undermine the system and perpetuate criminality?
