Seinfeld ticket prices too high for students
What's the deal with the high ticket prices to see Jerry Seinfeld perform at the Eisenhower Auditorium in February? Charging $72 for orchestra level seats and $61 for seats in the balcony is outrageous. Only a very small number of students are able to pay that much to see a comedy act. Why have Seinfeld come here if students cannot afford to see him? Now I understand that it is necessary to pay extra for the finer things in life. When the music god Dave Matthews came here in October, I was willing to pay the $56 price of admission to see his awesome band perform, but that is my price limit. And $56 will only get you a seat in the back two rows at Seinfeld's act. The price for the majority of the seats is way beyond what a college student can afford. Now there is a simple solution to this problem. Have the most popular comedian in the world perform at the Bryce Jordan Center, instead of at Eisenhower, and sell tickets at a price students can afford. That way everyone has the chance to go and, the dramatic increase in attendance would make up for the decrease in ticket price. Seinfeld (or the university) would still make as much money as if the act were at Eisenhower and would probably make much more. Unless this change is made, many students will miss out on the opportunity of seeing this great comedian, and that's no laughing matter. Alex Millan
