Saturday I went to watch a Penn State men's basketball game and I thought that it was an embarrassing moment for Penn State and its students. I sat and watched a determined team battle for the university, giving every ounce of themselves to win. They accomplished such a feat, but on their own. The crowd's emotions amounted to about as much as a game of bingo at a fire hall. The majority of the crowd was composed of children and alumni-aged people. We can coordinate a "White Out" for the football team, whose members give their hearts, but we cannot even show up to a basketball game to show our support for people that do the same. Congratulations on a job well done guys! I will do my best to support our athletics, and I ask that everyone do the same. So when we do the "we are" chant, we intimidate the team that plays us and not make them feel like it's just another practice.
