Fliers telling the stories of murdered transgendered individuals were set up on the lawn of the HUB-Robeson Center for the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance. The event started in 1999 in San Francisco with a candlelight vigil after the death of Rita Hester and has spread worldwide since. Friday's memorial at Penn State was arranged by the Penn State group Allies.
