Last night, new IFC and Panhellenic Council (PHC) officials were elected in separate elections.
PHC President-elect Colleen Briley said her goals for the council include being "more unified" and "partnering up" with other councils for events.
"I see [PHC] getting more involved with on campus events like Homecoming, Thon and Greek Week," she said.
"I hope [Greek Week] is more involved with all four councils."
PHC Executive Vice President Jennifer Finelli said working with members of other councils were among her goals.
Finelli said her goals include "promoting greek unity and promoting greek life as a whole" and "implementing the appreciative inquiry process."
Outgoing PHC President Krista Eck said the election of the 2005 executive board reminded her of the election of the current executive board.
"I'm very confident in their abilities; they're really going to do a great job for their entire term," she said.
Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Jane Neitz said the new executive board will be installed in a ceremony on Dec. 7 .
The new IFC executive board will be headed by Bertges, IFC president-elect, and Conly, IFC vice president-elect, who both ran uncontested and won by default. Sheakley was named next year's IFC vice president of finance after Eric Kelley conceded the race.
Hackett said the new leaders have a common vision that will "make it a lot easier to set goals and carry through with them."
There are still four positions to be filled to complete the IFC executive board. Applications are currently being reviewed, and the winners of the positions will be announced on Dec. 6.
Hackett said from now until the end of the semester the current IFC board will work with next year's IFC board to ensure a smooth transition.
"We want to make sure they continue the work, they know what we've done and that they don't have the same roadblocks that we did," he added.
Bertges said the next step is to get his name out in the community.
"I want them to know who I am and what I stand for," he said.
