The State College Police Department is investigating the robbery of a Gopper's Pizza delivery driver, which was reported about 12:30 a.m. Friday and involved the theft of barbecue subs, a two-liter bottle of Coke and an undisclosed amount of money.
According to Sgt. Mark Argiro of the State College Police Department, a deliveryman from Gopper's Pizza, 114 Hetzel St., was on a delivery to 566 Mobile Ave. When the driver arrived at the residence, he was informed that no one there had ordered food. Walking back to his car, the deliveryman was approached by two men who asked if he had change for $100, police said. After the deliveryman said no, he was told by the two men to give them all of his money.
According to the police report, one of the men said to the deliveryman, "OK, let's not make this any harder. Give us your money." No weapon was displayed during the altercation, and the victim was not harmed, police said. The two men then fled the scene, and the victim called 911.
Police said the two men were both black and between the ages of 20 and 28. The first man had a lighter complexion and was about 5 feet 11 inches tall. He also had stubble on his face and was wearing a gray sweatshirt that might have had a hood, police said. The other man had a darker complexion and was about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. According to the police report, he had prominent cheekbones and angular features. He also spoke with an accent, which police said is possibly African or Caribbean.
Police said they believe the two men drove a tan Ford pickup truck with an extended cab.
