USG needs changes to end internal fights

It wouldn't be a complete year in Happy Valley if certain members of the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) didn't fluff themselves up in an attempt to "play politician," sort of like how 8-year-olds "play house." The recipe has always been the same. Take a few college students with egos, put them in an institution that's been built to resemble the U.S. Government, give them some important sounding titles and you've set the stage. Pretty soon, a few begin using adult words like impeachment, recount or malfeasance. In the process, the majority of USG members who actually want to do good things can't help getting tangled up and distracted by the nonsense of big boy politics in student government. Even though I didn't vote for Galen Foulke, there's something to be said for the fact that he got more votes than anybody in school history. One of those ideas was to change the USG Constitution. The truth is that unless the USG Constitution's changed, USG will continue to get kidnapped every year by people who are more interested in "playing politician" than affecting lasting positive change. Students shouldn't just be fed up with Washington politics in USG, they should help Foulke and others in USG change the system in order to give students a real and effective voice at this university.
