Lynch needs to have credibility in column

In regards to Ryan Lynch's past several columns, but in particular his column yesterday ("Property code may help curb fraternity problems" Tues., Nov. 16), I can't help but to be ashamed to be a greek represented by such a horribly skewed news source. I am not arguing that Lynch's opinions in the article are wrong; however, sorry Lynch, but you lack complete and utter credibility. Listening to you talk about the greek system makes me feel like Hitler is lecturing on the importance of human rights. As you admit, you still live in the dorms, and from what I have seen you have no direct contact to greek life. Have you ever attended a State College Borough Council meeting regarding the property codes? Have you been in the presence of an Interfraternity Council meeting? Probably not. Yet, you still say, "...it's about time" to create some changes. Changes that in no way, no matter how you may respond, personally affect your life. Further, you suggest, as you have in previous columns, changes to the "few bad apple" fraternities that ruin it for everybody. Can you honestly tell me which houses are the "problem fraternities?" What scale are you measuring these statements on? Stop throwing catch phrases around that have become so commonplace in a college town where basically all public and academic fronts oppose the greeks. I'm really sorry bud, but I expect a little bit more from a reporter, credibility. Is that too much to ask?
