In response to Jonathan Hartland's letter ("Radical leftist ideas take over Democrats" Fri., Nov. 12), I find it amusing that Hartland would accuse Democrats of moving too far left to win an election. I also resent that fact that a graduate would write an interesting opinion piece that I, who consider myself liberal, did not mind reading until your unnecessary attack on "those still interested in gay marriage." I would think that a Penn State graduate would have a little more class than that. Simply because the Republican party has become so moderate that nobody knows what they actually stand for is not a reason to attack the left.
