Cincotti has also dabbled in cinema, with a cameo appearance in Spider-Man 2 and a featured role in the Kevin Spacey biopic Beyond the Sea, based on the life of singer Bobby Darin.
And oh yeah, he's a hottie.
"I know a lot of the female students I've talked to are very excited about coming to the show," Laura Sullivan, Eisenhower marketing and communications director, said.
Along with his chart achievements, Cincotti was named "Sexy Singer" in People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" issue and a "Top 10 Eligible College Bachelor" by CosmoGirl, and his latest album was recommended by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Jai Rodriguez for a romantic dinner party.
"Peter has made some incredible strides this past year," manager Philip Carruba said.
Sullivan suggested this broad range of success should appeal to young as well as old Penn Staters.
"He's probably going to appeal to students, I would think," she added. "He's young; he's only 21 years old. He's been recognized as kind of the next Harry Connick Jr."
In fact, Cincotti was more or less discovered by Connick, who had the boy sit in with him at a show at Bally's Grand in Atlantic City at the tender age of 7.
See what happens when you give a kid a toy piano to play?
From there, Cincotti studied classical piano at the Manhattan School of Music and took private lessons from Ellis Marsalis, father of legendary trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, becoming a professional when he was just 12.
So what should concert-goers expect from the young talent at Eisenhower tonight?
"I am planning to play selections from my new CD On the Moon, some new renditions of old songs and some new songs that I have written," Cincotti said of his current tour. "I don't like to plan out the evening until I arrive at the theater. It's going to be a fun show."
Tickets for the show are $15 for University Park students, $29 for adults and $22 for anyone 18 or younger.
