Crafting a signature style, while having it your way, big pimpin' and rockin' your body is no small feat. You need to know what you like, feel comfortable in, look best in and what fits your personality.
The best way to begin is to take example from guys who already have their panache developed.
1. Usher
My boo -- boyfriend for those of you not with it -- is sort of famous.
They call him U-S-H-E-R R-A-Y-M-O-N-D and when it comes to a sizzlin' personal style my man has definitely mastered the game. Fedoras, designer suits, beanies, leather jackets, denim, silk boxers -- whatever he wears, he wears it well.
Yeah, sure, the guy who drops his pants is built like Adonis and has crazy cute dimples but he also knows how to put it together to look flawless every time he steps out of the house. For instance, U can wear jeans, beater, bling, and then put on a beanie, leather jacket and thick belt to make the getup fit his signature look.
He's at the height of his game, as the self proclaimed "Mr. Entertainment," Ush is looking tight.
2. Justin Timberlake
Number two's flair for fashion may even be somewhat more developed and better than Usher, but his history of boy band galore knocks him down one.
Formerly of N'sync, who when they existed were an endless source of joy for me, Justin Timberlake is next on my list of style maven "div-os".
Justin, also known as my 'man on the side who says he three months pregnant and he's keeping it' has -- by inspiration, no doubt, of his girlfriend Cameron Diaz -- taken a little hiatus from music to see where acting takes him. But when he was the reigning "prince of pop" he brought a unique flava to the red carpet, videos and tabloid escapades.
In 2002 with his video for "Like I Love You," the guy single handedly created the trucker hat and layered tight tee crazes, both of which are still alive two years later.
3. Jay-Z
Unfortunately, my number three pick has retired (uhuh, and I'm Beyonce) from scripting his delicious rhymes that flooded the radio for the better part of the last 10 years.
True or not, he hasn't been any less visible these last few months, allowing me to revel in how elegant, consistent and confident J's wardrobe has become since he debuted so many years ago.
Though still one to wear baggy clothes, these days he can often be spotted sitting pretty with B in, say, a pin-striped suit and vest, pastel dress shirt, a pink tie and slick shining shoes. A hard-knock life, indeed.
