Athletic administration welcomes new member

Greg Myford has joined the Penn State athletic administration as Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications, Tim Curley, Director of Athletics, announced today.

Myford is returning to his alma mater after spending the past 12 years with Palace Sports & Entertainment. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, working with the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning, the Arena Football League's Tampa Bay Storm and the St. Pete Times Forum, home of the Lightning and Storm.

Myford's responsibilities will include oversight of marketing and promotions, the athletic ticket operation, sports information, publications and www.GoPSUsports.com, the official website of Penn State Athletics. Much of his attention will be focused on working with the recently created Football and Basketball MarCom (Marketing and Communications) unit, expanding the services and efficiency of the athletic ticket operation and developing new and expanding existing revenue opportunities. His appointment is effective November 26.

"We are pleased to have someone with Greg's talents and initiative join the Penn State team," said Curley. "Greg brings substantial experience and demonstrated success in corporate marketing and development for one of the premier sports and entertainment companies in the nation. We are looking forward to Greg's contributions in all aspects of our marketing and external relations initiatives."
