This letter is in response to Timothy Best ("Student apologizes for Bush re-election" Thurs., Nov. 4) who apologized to the world for Americans re-electing President George Bush. Why should we apologize for electing the man the majority of people in this nation believe is the best man to protect America? Has an Arabic nation ever apologized for slaughtering Jews or Westerners? This election wasn't about what the rest of the world wanted. This election was about what we, as Americans, wanted. Why apologize to minorities? Democrats are notorious for predicating discrimination between the races. A person shouldn't be given preferential treatment for employment based on race or gender. Why apologize to women? The wage-gap has been decreasing, and there are more women than ever in executive level positions. Why apologize to homosexuals? No one voted to make homosexuality illegal. People voted against redefining an institution that is deeply rooted in the moral fabric of this nation. Why apologize to your children? Why not apologize to the millions of children who never get the chance to live because of abortions on demand. I, for one, will not apologize for voting for the person best suited for the job. And I'm sure the other 59 million people won't either.
