| POSITION |
COMMENTS |
| Quarterback |
D |
Michael Robinson has made plays at other positions, but couldn't get it done at QB. He was only 7-for-21 and an INT returned for a TD was devastating.
|
| Running backs |
B |
This isn't a trick -- the running game was more of a treat than expected. Without a pass attack, Tony Hunt and his 85 yards were the reason PSU scored. |
| Wide Receivers |
D |
Where have all the receivers gone? The only player to have more than one catch was a RB, as dropped balls and inability to get open killed the pass game. |
| Offensive line |
C- |
Better, but still not good. The linemen didn't have as many problems against a subpar OSU defense, but still allowed 3 sacks and brutal hits on the RBs. |
| Defensive line |
B |
The line allowed 143 yards on the ground and a few clutch dashes. But the linemen still were solid, playing through a 14-point deficit they didn't create. |
| Linebackers |
A |
The 'backers were the best of the defense, with three of the top five tacklers on the team. Senior Derek Wake played better than he has all season. |
| Secondary |
B+ |
OSU wasn't allowed much of a passing game, with only 6 completions. Though some of those were at key points, these guys mostly controlled the air. |
| Special Teams |
D |
Jeremy Kapinos punted well, and Robbie Gould scored, but allowing Ted Ginn, Jr. to return a punt for a TD was a mistake that set the tone of the day. |
