The State College Police Department is continuing its investigation into an incident Tuesday night at Cinema 5, 116 Hiester St., when an unknown person allegedly released pepper spray or another chemical agent into the air.
Officer Tony Lopinsky said police believe an individual was involved with releasing some sort of agent into the air, but they had not received any leads as of yesterday concerning the issue.
On Tuesday night, four people in the theater complained about breathing difficulty and eye irritation. An employee who entered the theater to investigate the complaints also experienced similar problems, police said.
Audience members were evacuated as the State College police and the Alpha Fire Company were dispatched to the scene.
