'The O.C' Season Premiere
TV Review

Before you read any further, let me offer this disclaimer: THERE ARE NO SPOILERS HERE.

OK, we got that out of the way. Now, since the new season of The O.C. -- Fox's extremely successful teen soap series set to begin Nov. 4 -- hasn't premiered yet, how can there be a review?

I just happened to be one of the lucky fans that caught an advance screening of the new season's first two episodes on Monday.

Fans will be glad to know the excessive number of pop culture references and overwhelming soapiness of the show has not disappeared in the second season.

There is still as much drama in Orange County as there was last season. I will say this about the new season: There will be plenty of new characters and loves, Seth (Adam Brody) is still obsessed with track jackets and comic books, and Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) cuts back on the overacting a bit.

Also, fans will be glad to know that the girls of the show, Marissa (Mischa Barton) and Summer (Rachel Bilson), will not be without their problems this season. What else can you expect when both of their boyfriends deserted them in last year's finale?

The main parents -- Sandy (Peter Gallagher) and Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) Cohen -- get more involved in the plot lines.

All in all this is going to be a spectacular second season of one of the most enjoyable shows in primetime.
