This is why the Collegian is wrong regarding its endorsement for president ("America should elect Sen. John Kerry" Wed., Oct. 27). Priority one for a president is, and always will be to protect America. We live in a Sept. 11 world. Unfortunately, most liberals live in a Sept. 10 world. America will be safer with President George W. Bush in the White House. He has prosecuted the war on terror with determination. The Bush doctrine of pre-emption and aggressive promotion of freedom abroad has put terrorists and totalitarian thugs on notice. Sen. John Kerry wants a coalition? There was a one in 1991 with the first war with Iraq. In fact, it was strong as steel. The United Nations and allied nations all supported us. What did Kerry do? He voted against the war. What makes you believe Kerry will be stronger with terrorists than Bush? He panders to everyone for votes. Even if you do not agree with Bush's domestic and international policies, at least we know what he stands for, what his plan is and how he will never undermine the safety of all Americans. Given what's at stake, there should be no question that you should vote for Bush on Tuesday.
