Jerome Slacum, 57, and Stacey Ann Miller, 35, waived their preliminary hearings yesterday in connection with robberies that occurred Sept. 23 at Uni-Mart, 300 S. Allen St., and the Quinn-Tessential Scrapbook Store, 2141 S. Atherton St.
According to police documents, Slacum and Miller walked into the Uni-Mart at about 8 p.m. and Slacum claimed to have a gun and demanded money. The two left the store with $92, and the store manager chased the woman and recovered the money, police said.
According to court documents, about an hour later Slacum and Miller stole $347 from the Quinn-Tessential Scrapbok Store. At one point during the robbery, Slacum indicated that he was carrying a gun.
Slacum and Miller face charges of criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property. No trial date has been set.
Eliah Davis of Reading and Joseph Kieron of Wyomissing waved their preliminary hearings yesterday in connection with an incident Sunday on the 200 Block of Highland Avenue.
According to police, the two men allegedly took money from two people who intended to buy drugs, and then never delivered the drugs.
Police said Davis was carrying $1,800 and a gun at the time of his arrest. Joseph was carrying 40 bags of marijuana and cocaine and was armed with a knife, police said.
Davis and Kieron have been charged with robbery, assault, theft, drugs and weapons violations. No trial date has been set.
