For all the criticism of University Park Allocation Committee (UPAC) got for supporting Michael Moore and other controversial events on campus, I would like to commend the group for standing up for the Lion 90.7FM. As the only student run radio station on campus, the Lion provides invaluable experience to students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting. The Lion also adds to the student experience by providing culturally diverse programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week. UPAC has helped save an independent student voice. Now future communications majors will have a chance to benefit in a way that many have before.
